Note to new hands!Misusing Tools Can Do a Disservice

Choosing the right walking tools is crucial. Different tools serve various purposes but cannot directly solve behavioral issues. Here’s some tips of walking tools:

01 Chest Harness

Recommended Type: Y-shaped or H-shaped harness.

Benefits: Less restriction on your dog’s walking posture and more comfortable to wear.

Selection Tips: Ensure the chest strap is below the chest bone, the shoulder blades can move freely, and the waist strap is two fingers away from the elbow joint.

Cautions: Help your dog get used to wearing it, without biting or resistance.

02 Wide Collar

Materials: Nylon, leather, etc.

Benefits: Easy to use and gentle on the dog’s neck.

Fitting: Should be snug enough for two fingers to fit between the collar and the neck.

Cautions: Not suitable for dogs prone to pulling; avoid long-term dragging, that may cause injury.

03 Prong Collar and Chain

Usage: Form a P-shape with the chain and attach the leash.

Benefits: Traditional training tool.

Cautions: Not recommended for beginners as it may work as a tool for punishment. Trainers usually use it for interruption and reminders, not for violent pulling.

04 Thin Leather Leash

Usage: Mainly used for dog-show competitions.

Cautions: Small contact area can get tighten easily, don't use it  for daily walks.

05 Spiked and Shock Collars

Cautions: Not recommended for daily use as they can be misleading as punishment tools, damaging the human-dog bond.

06 Muzzle

Usage: Controls direction, suitable for overly excited or reactive dogs.

Cautions: Needs professional guidance to avoid causing stress or neck injuries with improper use.

Developing good behavior and building trust is the most important thing. Use the right training methods and tools, and enjoy your time with your dog!
